Welcome to our very first blog post and we would like to thank you for joining us on this journey. Opening Nova Veterinary Centre has been a significant milestone, not only for us as veterinary professionals, but as members of the Newport community.
We’d like to take a moment to share how Nova came to be and reflect on what it means to us.
The Beginning of an Idea
Nova Veterinary Centre was born from a shared vision between three local veterinary professionals Samantha, Kate and Anley. To create something independent, community-focused and rooted in high-quality, compassionate care.
Having worked in both corporate and independent practices, we understood what matters most to us: trust, time, continuity and genuine care. We wanted to build a space where clients could feel heard, where pets felt calm and safe and where clinical decisions were made for the right reasons, by the people who know you.
From Plans to Practice
Transforming an empty unit at NiPark on the A518 into a fully functioning veterinary clinic was a rewarding and challenging process. Working with local contractors and suppliers, we designed the space to meet high clinical standards while keeping the comfort of our patients in mind.
Our facilities now include three consulting rooms, two theatres, separate dog, cat and isolation wards, a dedicated imaging suite with x-ray and ultrasound, blood and urine analysers and a clean, welcoming reception area. Every detail has been considered to support the wellbeing of both animals and their owners.
Opening Week
We officially opened our doors on Monday 21st July 2025, and we were truly humbled by the warm response from the local community. Clients came through the doors ready to register, say hello and support a new, independent option in Newport. Seeing so many familiar faces and meeting new ones has made this experience incredibly meaningful. We’re grateful for every conversation, every kind word, and every pet we’ve had the privilege to treat already.
Our Commitment
Our team that is made up of experienced veterinary surgeons, a dedicated registered veterinary nurse, practice manager and a welcoming support team are all committed to providing personalised, reliable care. We are locally based, personally invested and professionally led. Every pet we see is treated as an individual, and every client is respected as part of their care team.
At Nova, we believe veterinary care should be approachable, consistent and centred on trust. That’s what we’re here to deliver.
Looking Ahead
This is just the beginning. As we settle into our new space, we’re continuing to take registrations, schedule appointments and expand our services. We’re also working on developing educational content, running community-focused events and offering additional ways to support the long-term health of your pets.
